KPCC list: K Muraleedharan too voices disapproval
Thiruvananthapuram: The uncertainty surrounding the KPCC officer-bearers’ list deepened further with more Congress leaders coming out against the list submitted by the state party unit to the high command.
The latest Congress leader who expressed disapproval is K Muraleedharan. He urged the high command not to approve the list as it needs more discussions and must be revised.
He has reportedly told the national leadership that the list, once public, will be damaging for the party.
With this the selection of office-bearers from Kerala has become more complex. Recently, senior leader V M Sudheeran expressed dissatisfaction over the list. According to him, the leadership gave priority to interests of various factions while preparing the list.
Leaders including P C Chacko and Shashi Tharoor had also come out against the list.
Facing stiff opposition from its leaders, the KPCC had earlier submitted a revised list to the high command including the names of 282 people. It is against this revised list that leaders including Sudheeran are now expressing reservations.
Earlier, the high command had said that it does not wish to go ahead with elections for the post of office bearers nation-wide without Kerala. However, this situation seems to be inevitable now with the deadline for party’s organisational polls approaching.
