Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leaders came under severe criticism during the KPCC political affairs committee meeting held here on Tuesday. Criticism were raised against senior congress leaders including Mullappally Ramachandran, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala. They have been criticized for their lack of unity on important issues as it would create confusion amongst the public. The criticisms were made by leaders K Sudhakaran, K Muraleedharan, KV Thomas and VD Satheeshan.

K Sudhakaran alleged that he was not contacted even once by the KPCC working president, despite holding the post for more than a year and half. He added that even former CM Karunakaran used to hold meetings and discussions with party members. Mullappaly replied that Sudhakaran did not go and meet him at any point of time. Sudhakaran denied this by saying that he had tried to clear the misunderstandings between them by attempting to meet the working president thrice.

VD Satheeshan asked whether these senior Congress leaders communicate between themselves at least over phone. He even asked whether they were trying to ruin the party. K Muraleedharan pointed out that lack of coordination was the source of all problems, to which the committee agreed.

However, Mullappally Ramachandran denied all these in the press meet the followed. He said that what happened in the committee meeting was just constructive discussions. He also stated that that there is no difference of opinion between the KPCC leadership and the party leaders. But he admitted to the lapse in communication between them.
