Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC Chief K Sudhakaran has expressed regret over his racist comments against former minister MM Mani. Taking to his Facebook page on Monday, Sudhakaran noted that his racist remark against MM Mani was not intentional.

“ It was just a reaction after losing my temper. I didn’t mean it. I admit my mistake,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

On Monday, Mahila Congress activists led a protest march carrying an effigy which portrayed MM Mani as a Chimpanzee. As the effigy triggered a controversy, the KPCC chief reacted that the effigy featured MM Mani’s original face. Hours after this racist remark, the KPCC Chief expressed regret. He added that he should have avoided the comment while reacting to the media over the effigy row.
