KP Sasikala on her way to Sabarimala again
Nilakkal: Hindu Aikya Vedi leader K. P. Sasikala is visiting Sabarimala again on Monday. She has boarded a KSRTC bus from Nilakkal to Pampa along with her family. Sasikala said she is going to the temple for the rice feeding ceremony of her grandchild.
On knowing her visit to the temple, Superintendent of Police Yathish Chandra boarded the bus to talk to Sasikala and gave directions regarding the visit. Sasikala assured the SP that she does not intend to create any trouble at the temple and will return soon after having darshan. She was asked to give an undertaking that she won’t camp at the temple top.
The SP directed Sasikala to return from the temple by noon when the shrine closes. He later told media that they are allowing Sasikala and family visit the temple on that assurance. He also issued a notice in this regard and Sasikala signed it assuring to follow it.
Meanwhile, Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the BJP, will hold a day-long state-wide agitation on Monday to intensify their stir against police high handedness.
Earlier, Sasikala was arrested by the police on Friday when she was on her way to the hill shrine. She was kept under preventive detention as part of ensuring security. With this, Sabarimala Karma Samithi with the support of BJP staged a dawn-to-dusk hartal on Saturday in protest over her arrest. She was later released on bail.
