Kozhikode: The girl who was gang-raped in Janakikkad, Kozhikode, has revealed that she faced sexual assault from a relative two years ago. The incident came to light during one of her counselling sessions. Based on this, a case has been registered by the police against the accused.
In total, three cases have been registered in connection with the girl facing sexual assaults.
The girl was assaulted on October 3, after she was drugged by the accused in the outskirts of Janakikkad. She left home on October 19 following the threats from the accused. Police registered a case and arrested five people based on her statement.
Police said the 17-year-old girl, who had gone to wash clothes in a canal near her mother's house, was being taken away by the two men who came on a bike. The accused are charged under the POCSO Act and the act preventing atrocities against STs, and SCs.
Later, the survivor told the doctorthat she was taken to the Pannikottur forest area in the Peruvannamoozhi village on another day and was sexually abused by two men. The second incident took place on the evening of October 16. Police then registered another case against two people. One of them was part of the initial crime.
After this, the girl revealed to the police that she was allegedly taken to a relative's house two years ago and was sexually assaulted by her relative. It is being investigated whether more people were involved in the incident.
