Jibin with mother
Koyilandy: Jibin’s life turned upside down following an unexpected accident on the football ground. A blow with a football on the back of the head made him bedridden for the past five years.
Two doctors visit Jibin daily twice for physiotherapy and his condition has been improving slowly. However, his family is now toiling to meet the expenses of his treatment.
The mishap happened at the age of 17, while Jibin was preparing to join the army. He was also pursuing an ITI course then.
Jibin is the son of Karayad native Gireesh who is a daily wager. As he had to look after Jibin and carry out his treatment and exercises, Gireesh often could not go to work. Jibin’s parents said that his physiotherapy and treatments were proceeding with the financial assistance provided by the relatives and people in the locality. But the physiotherapy has to be continued at least for improving his movements. They cannot even take Jibin outside on a wheelchair as their house is located on a steep slope, 40 metres away from the road without a concrete path.
