Angamali: A youth was arrested for exposing himself to a young woman on a KSRTC bus. Savad Sha, a native of Kozhikode, is the arrestee. The incident took place at Angamaly on Wednesday morning on a bus from Thrissur to Kochi.
It is alleged that Savad masturbated in front of the woman. He tried to run away when she objected, but was later caught by bus employees.
Savad boarded the bus at Angamaly. He sat next to the complainant and started to rub his hand on her body. After a few minutes, he started masturbating, the complainant said in a video she posted on social media.
She recorded video and questioned the man's behaviour. He denied any wrongdoing. The KSRTC conductor swiftly intervened and asked her if she had a complaint. When she replied affirmatively, the conductor asked the driver to take the bus to the police station. When the bus stopped upon seeing police on the roadside, he pushed the conductor and ran away from the bus. But later he was caught by the bus conductor and driver at the airport signal and handed over to the police.
The woman thanked bus conductor KK Pradeep, driver, and a fellow passenger who helped her file a complaint for their interventions.
According to the complainant, five girls who faced bad experiences with him sent her messages on social media after this incident came to light.
