Lady cop files fake complaint against elderly couple for asking unpaid rent

Kozhikode: A preliminary investigation into a police complaint filed by a lady cop in Kozhikode alleging sexual assault by an elderly couple and their son-in-law was found to be false. It is learnt that the police official filed the complaint against the couple and their son-in-law for asking rent due.

The complaint was lodged by a woman SI in Kozhikode Medical College Division Assistant Commissioner’s Office. The individuals framed in the case are elderly teacher couple staying near Kuttiyilpadi Sreekrishnapuram temple and their son-in-law in Dubai. According to the complaint, the elderly couple’s son-in-law grabbed her hand for rejecting his sexual advance. The complaint mentions the date in which the son-in-law stayed at the couple’s house, when he was here on a visit from Dubai. The complaint also states that the cop's wedding ring was forcefully removed.

The cop also mentioned in the complaint that the price of the ring, which amounts to Rs 30,000 and caution deposit of the rented house, which is Rs 70,000 must be returned to her. Charges of atrocity were filed against the couple.

Meanwhile, as per the new rent agreement, the woman owes a due of Rs 1,43,000 and electricity charge of Rs 4,000 to the couple.

According to the report given by Panniyankara police to higher authorities, the woman SI is not cooperating with the department probe. The probe was initiated after a complaint was filed by the elderly couple to the city police chief AV George. The city police chief informed that the matter is being investigated and report from the commissioner MM Siddique has been sought over the matter. Both the complaints will be investigated, he said.
