Kozhikode native dies after 2 family members succumb to COVID-19
Kozhikode: Another death has been reported in a family residing here where two members had succumbed to COVID-19 earlier.
Karanthoor native Muhammad Ali, who was undergoing treatment for kidney disease, died on Monday. He was taken to the hospital after his condition worsened. His coronavirus test result is awaited.
If he tests positive, this will be the third COVID-19 death in the family.
Muhammad Ali is the son in law of Rukhiya (67) who had succumbed to COVID-19 on July 24. She tested positive after death. Rukhiya’ s daughter Shahida (50) breathed her last on Saturday. Shahida also tested positive for COVID-19 after death.
A native of Karaparamba, Rukhiya underwent a COVID test after a 14-year-old girl in her family tested positive for the virus.
Following Rukhiya’s death, her daughter Shahida also breathed her last. Shahida was under treatment for cancer and her test result also came out positive after death.
Rukhiya’s relatives entered quarantine after being in close contact with her. Three more people in the family are under observation.
