Kozhikode: A man injured in a road accident was trapped inside an ambulance for almost half an hour and died due to delay in getting him out. Feroke native Koyamon (66) was identified as the deceased. The door of the ambulance that arrived at the medical college hospital with the patient got jammed and could not be opened. The lock on the door had to be broken to get the patient out. By the time the door was opened and Koyamon was admitted to the hospital, he passed away.

Koyamon was hit by a scooter at around 2 pm on Monday as he was walking through the beach hospital road. Though he was taken to the beach hospital first, he had to be shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical. A doctor from the beach hospital also went along with the patient in the ambulance.

Koyamon was the security official at PK Steels on Cherooty road. Wife: Nafeesa.
