Kozhikode: A man and his family members were charged with abetment to suicide and domestic violence, following the death of his wife.
Parambil Bazar native Anagha was found dead on the railway track on October 27 near a relative's house in Kozhikode. Elathur police registered a case for unnatural death.
However, her relatives soon filed a complaint with the Chelavoor police that her husband Sreejesh and his family used to abuse her. Following this, the case was handed over to the Chelavoor police.
Anagha and Sreejesh got married three years ago. According to the complaint, Sreejesh was irritated over Anagha keeping touch with her relatives after marriage. He never allowed her to meet her parents.
Her brother was kicked out of Sreejesh's house when the former brought a birthday cake for Anagha. The relatives were not allowed to see the twins born to the couple. Sreejesh's mother and sister too used to torture her, the complaint said.
