Kozhikode gang rape case: Two friends of nursing student arrested

Kozhikode: Kasaba Police recorded the arrest of two youth who allegedly intoxicated a nursing student with liquor and gangraped her at Govindapuram in Kozhikode. The accused Ernakulam natives, Amal (21) and Ambadi (19), were on the run after the police registered a case based on the complaint of the nursing student. Police nabbed them by tracking the location of their mobile phones. Their arrests were recorded following interrogation.

One of the accused is a dialysis training student at a private college in Kozhikode while the other is pursuing graduation in Ernakulam.

According to the police, Amal and Ambadi took the girl, who was their friend, to their rented house in Govindapuram on Saturday and raped her after offering alcohol. The girl became aware of the rape only after waking up at 2 am on Sunday. The accused were found sleeping then. She immediately went out of the room and contacted another friend, who came and took the girl to her house.

She informed her family in Ernakulam regarding the rape and lodged a complaint later.
