Kozhikode Corporation identified fraud in accounts at PNB months later

Kozhikode: Even after losing crores from the accounts at Punjab National Bank, the corporation identified the fraud months later. The corporation has 15 accounts, including that of Kudumbashree, at the Link Road branch of the bank.

The corporation has found a total of Rs 15.24 crore missing from seven of these accounts. Rs 10.81 crore went missing from the Kudumbashree account in May and June.

The corporation informed the bank of the money swindling after noticing it in October and November. Of the total money that went missing, Rs 4.5 crore was swindled in October and November. In May and June, Rs 8,49,24,16 and Rs 2,31,31,489 went missing from two types of Kudumbashree accounts.
