Kozhikode: A 19-year-old undergraduate student was sexually assaulted and dumped on the side of the Thamarassery Ghat road on Thursday. Police said that the girl was drugged before being subjected to sexual assault.
On Tuesday, the girl left her hostel in Kozhikode, claiming she was going home. Later, the hostel authorities contacted the family when the girl didn't return. It was the family who filed a missing case with the police.
Following this, an investigation conducted by Thamarassery Police found the girl at the 9th curve of the Thamarassery Ghat road. She was later admitted to the hospital.
The girl revealed that she was taken to various places and repeatedly raped. Thamassery DySP will lead the probe.
