Kottayam: A woman attempted to take the lives of herself and her child in front of the Koottickal grama panchayat office in Mundakayam here. A rock mine near her house has made her life miserable, she alleged.
She arrived at the panchayat office at around 3 in the evening. She poured kerosene and lit herself. Natives immediately intervened and rescued the woman and the child.
