Kottayam: The timings of trains running through Kottayam will slightly change from the second week of June. The doubling of the track here will end halting of trains and improve the speed of the trains.
Though the new track will be commissioned on May 29, the renovation of the yard at Kottayam remains. It will take two more weeks to complete.
Once the platforms are ready for using them in their full capacity, timings of trains like Venad express (16301, 16302) and Parasuram express (16649, 16650) will change.
At present, the works are going as per schedule, railway officials said.
