Kottayam: A man killed himself on Thursday in Thalayazham near Vaikom reportedly over the failure to repay a bank loan.
Karthikeyan, 61, took his life hours after the Thottakam Cooperative Bank officers visited his property to scale it for attaching it.
He had a Rs 17 lakh loan that was taken in 2014.
The family alleged that pressure from the bank forced the man to take the extreme step. Police said a probe was underway.
