Kottayam electrical inspector arrested for bribery

Kottayam: KK Soman, an executive engineer serving as an electrical inspector at the Kottayam Electric Inspectorate, was apprehended by the vigilance team. He was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor based in Ernakulam.

Soman had previously accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the same contractor. When he again demanded payment, Soman alerted the Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau. The vigilance officials swiftly intervened and caught Soman red-handed, as he was accepting the money and placing it in his wallet at his office on Wednesday morning. The arrest was carried out by a team led by Vinod Kumar, under the supervision of Kottayam Vigilance SP VG Soman.
