Kottayam: Two persons were nabbed at Thalayolaparambu for possessing 105 kilogram of cannabis. The accused were identified as Kens Babu from Karipputhattu in Kottayam and Mundakayam native Ranjith.
In what appeared to be a scene straight out of a movie flick, police nabbed the drug peddlers following a daring chase. The accused were carrying 105 kilogram of cannabis from Ernakulam region when the police attempted to stop the car at Vettikattumukku. However, the accused attempted to escape without stopping the car. When police chased the car, one of the accused jumped out of the car and ran. A few cops ran behind him and he was nabbed. The other person was also arrested when the car reached Thalayolaparambu junction.
Police have taken the accused under custody and quizzing is underway. The source and destination of the cannabis will be found out only after a detailed interrogation, informed police.
