Kottayam: A couple was found dead inside a house at Ayarkunnam here on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Sudheesh (40) and his wife Tintu (34). Sudheesh was found hanging, and Tintu was found dead under a bed. Police suspect that Sudheesh killed his wife before committing suicide.
The duo was found dead after Sudheesh's mother reached the house as they were not answering her phone calls. The bodies of couples were found inside the house when neighbours and Sudheesh's mother entered the house. The bodies were found in two separate rooms.
Sudheesh was found with cut marks on his veins of both hands. Meantime, it is suspected that Tintu was suffocated to death using a pillow. Bruise marks were also found on her neck as somebody strangulated her with a shawl.
District police chief D Shilpa and other officials arrived at the crime scene along with the forensic unit. Officials said that the investigation is ongoing, and the motive behind the death is still unclear.
