Palakkad: Dr Prabhudas, superintendent at Government Tribal Speciality Hospital at Kottathara in Attapadi, has been transferred to Tirurangadi Taluk Hospital after he made a comment against Health Minister Veena George. However, the health secretary elaborated that the transfer was given for easier administration.
Dr Mohammed Abdul Rahman, the Superintendent of Taluk Hospital in Pattambi, has been given charge of the Kottathara Hospital replacing Dr Prabhudas.
Prabhudas had criticised the government saying that it cares about Attapadi only when infant deaths take place. The comment was made following Health Minister Veena George’s visit to the place.
Dr Prabhudas told the media that many members of the hospital management committee were asking for bribe to pass bills and that he was given the transfer for trying to stop this.
He also said that as a nodal officer he was avoided during the time of Minister Veena George’s visit to Attapadi.
