Kottarakkara: Police officers Manilal, Babu Mohan and Home Guard Alex kutty are yet to recover from the shock; the officials were at the receiving end of Sandeep’s rage.
Alex Kutty, Home Guard at Pooyapally station was stabbed at least 7 times by the perpetrator while he was trying to save the life of CPM local committee member Binu, who was Sandeep’s relative. Binu had accompanied Sandeep to the hospital.
"We were initially unaware that Sandeep was carrying a pair of scissors in his hands," says Alex Kutty.
Meanwhile, ASO Manilal, who was posted at the hospital aid post suffered a head injury in the attack.
"Had I known that Sandeep was carrying a ‘weapon’, I would have approached him with caution," says Manilal.
It is said that Baby Mohan, another officer from Pooyapally station was stabbed around ten times by the culprit; but was lucky enough to survive.
