Kottayam: The Kottarakkara murder investigation has been transferred to the District Crime Branch due to errors in the FIR.
While Crime Branch Rural DYSP M.M Jose will lead the investigation, Rural SP ML Sunil Kumar will look over the proceedings.
The decision has come after mistakes were spotted in the FIR registered by the police.
Currently, the police are awaiting Sandeep’s custody who is undergoing medical treatment.
The police have come under severe criticism following the incident. There are allegations that the tragedy could have been avoided if they were more alert.
As per the statement of the witnesses, Sandeep attacked Vandana after confronting the police.
However, this is contradictory to what is mentioned in the FIR.
