Manasa, gun found from Manasa's room, Rakhil
Kannur: The body of Manasa, who was shot dead on Friday by her stalker, was laid to rest at Payyambalam. Rakhil, who shot himself after shooting Manasa, was also buried at Pinarayi Pantakkappara crematorium.
When the lifeless body of Manasa was brought to 'Parvanam' house in Naarathu, Kannur on Sunday morning, everybody present there could hold back their tears. Manasa left that house to Kothamanagalam a few weeks back hoping to return home for Onam.
Manasa, a final year house surgency student at Indira Gandhi Dental College, Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam, was shot dead by Rakhil at her rented house where she lived with her three friends. Manasa is daughter of Madhavan, a Kannur traffic police home guard and Sabeena, a teacher. She has a brother Aswanth. Rakhil, an interior designer, is son of Raghuthaman and Rajitha from Melur Chakirikunnu, Thalassery.
Police intervention provoked him
On July 4, Rakhil rented a room in Kothamangalam Nellikuzhi, next to Manasa's house, to meet her and solve the problems. However, it is believed that Rakhil changed his decision after police issued a warning on the complaint of Manasa's family. Police have decided to take statements from all those who contacted Rakhil over phone between July 7 and 12. It is said that Rakhil had been in touch with Manasa on the phone till a month before the incident.

Kerala police head to Bihar
A 10-member team of police will go to Bihar in search of the source of the pistol used by Rakhil to shoot Manasa and himself. The police have also sought the help of Bihar police. It is clear from Rakhil's phone records and friends' statements that he had travelled to Bihar. He stayed outside Kerala for eight days from July 12.

According to sources Rakhil had gone to Bihar to buy the pistol. Strangers cannot buy guns directly. Police believe he may have received help from someone involved in the area. The probe team also confirmed that Rakhil was trained to use such weapons.
Ernakulam Rural SP K Karthik has chosen the best and specially trained policemen to probe this case. The police who went for the primary investigation in Kannur have found that Rakhil has been using multiple phones.
