Kozhikode: A Korean woman alleged that she was sexually abused near Karipur International Airport. The Korean woman was handed over to the police by the airport security officials for not possessing return ticket to fly back to Korea.

The woman was subjected to medical test where rape was confirmed. Kozhikode Town police have registered a case.

On Friday, the woman arrived at Karipur to fly back to her homeland. She had reached India on a tourist Visa. However, the security officials stopped her and reported to the police as she had no flight ticket.

In a probe, police found that the woman had stayed in two hotels in Kozhikode town. Police had to seek the help of a translator to find what she was speaking.

The woman was taken to Govt Medical College in Kozhikode as she displayed some mental uneasiness. She revealed about the rape to the doctors from the hospital. Soon, a medical test was conducted and assault was confirmed.

The investigation is hindered as the woman is unwilling to share details with the police. The investigation team informed that the woman will be produced in front of the magistrate and her statements will be recorded with the help of a translator.
