Koodathayi murder case accused Jolly attempts suicide in jail
Kozhikode: Jolly, the key accused in the controversial Koodathayi serial murders case, attempted suicide inside the Kozhikode jail. It is reported that she attempted to commit suicide by cutting her vein on hand. She was immediately taken to Kozhikode district hospital and later shifted to medical college.
The incident took place in the wee hours on Thursday. She was found bleeding inside the cell and the jail authority took her to the hospital.
According to reports, Jolly showed suicidal tendency since she was arrested in the case. In view of this, counselling was given to her at the medical college.
Meanwhile, police initiated a probe on the sharp object by which Jolly cut her vein.
Jolly, who was housed at the Kozhikode District jail, first bit her wrists and then rubbed it against the tiles and injured herself, according to a statement that was given to the police in the hospital.
At the same time, the police refused to believe her statement and inspected her cell, but failed to find any sharp objects from her cell.
Sources close to the hospital revealed that she might have used a sharp object like a blade to cut her vein.
