Kottayam: A 30-year-old Kollam youth was arrested for duping Rs 6.7 lakh after posing as a health inspector. The person arrested is Arun M, a native of Kunnathur.
The person was having fake ID card and office seal. He even used to wear the respective uniform to look like an authorised official. According to reports, the person had been fooling Scheduled Caste promoters and many youngsters.
Arun's illicit pursuit, which lasted for two years, was exposed when a youngster filed a police complaint against him. According to the complaint, Arun duped him of Rs 6.7 lakh by making false promises of securing a clerk job in the health department. Unfortunately, Arun is alleged to have cheated him.
Police also found that Arun committed multiple frauds by focusing on Kottayam Medical College's casualty and Scheduled Tribe Service Centre.
Interestingly, Arun is also implicated in another case involving job fraud that took place between 2016 and 2017. In this particular case, he stands accused of defrauding several job aspirants out of Rs 6 lakh. Arun is involved in multiple other cases of impersonation as well.
Meanwhile, police have intensified the probe on the latest job fraud case to know whether there are more victims.
