Hours of traffic jam on NH 66 as Goods lorry breaks down on Neendakara bridge

Kollam: Heavy traffic blockade was witnessed on the National Highway 66 as a lorry got stuck on the Neendakara bridge. Though the goods lorry broke down in the middle of the bridge at 9 pm, it was removed only around 10.30 am using a crane. Later, the traffic block continued for hours.

Being Monday, considerable traffic was reported on the stretch in the morning. The vehicle traffic was disrupted for hours and thousands of people heading for work and students faced a tough time.

The rice-laden lorry was moving from Ernakulam to Kollam. More police officers under Kollam ACP GD Vijayakumar were later deployed to control the traffic.
