Students injured in clash at Kollam SN college

Kollam: Two students were injured in a scuffle at SN college on Monday afternoon. SFI union chairman J R Vaibhav (19 years) and unit committee member Achyuth S Krishna (21 years) were admitted to the district hospital.

According to the SFI leaders, the injured students were engaged in a clash with senior students over use of drugs inside campus. It is said that they were attacked with iron rods and monkey players.

The group of attackers bore grudge against the SFI members as they had informed the college officials regarding the drug use among their seniors.

The East Police arrived at the college after the incident, and registered a case against five students.

Prominent leaders including CPM Kollam area secretary A M Iqbal, DYFI district secretary Shyammohan, and SFI central committee member G T Anjukrishna visited the injured students in hospital.
