Kollam police trace people dodging quarantine to prevent +ve cases

Currently, Kollam is one of the two districts where no COVID-19 positive cases are not reported. The district administration and health department are maintaining high alert and caution at every phase.

Kollam: Those who came from foreign countries or other states whereever they are hiding violating the COVID-19 quarantine protocol, the police will trace them out for sure. The police have found 79 foreigners who came from coronavirus afffected places and were dodging observation or quarantine. All of them were traced on a single day.

A team headed by RDO Sumeethan Pillai and including Dr Shashi, Dr Arun and Dr TA Narayanan checked the health condition of 43 foreigners on Thursday also. As directed by the DMO, samples of 30 persons were sent for checking. Though none of them showed any symptoms, since they belonged to high risk countries, all the tourists were referred to Parippally Medical College.

The police also found a couple who stayed in a rented house in Kollam after coming back from Gulf. They are also quarantined at present. The health department officials managed to find those who were hiding in their flats in the cities after coming from foreign countries.

Checking will continue in resorts, hotels and homestays in the district. In case of experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus, people are advised to contact the control room numbers. They will provide scientific solutions for the health conditions.
