Kollam: A youth who allegedly abducted a teenager from Tamil Nadu was found hanged inside a house here on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Poothakkulam native Rakesh. The 14-year-old boy who was abducted by the deceased has been taken to his place by Tamil Nadu police.
Rakesh is a contractor in the construction field who takes up works based in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He has worked in Tamil Nadu and Tiruppur. According to reports, he abducted the 14-year-old boy following a rift over financial matters.
Rakesh arrived in Kollam with the boy on Friday evening. He tied the boy down to the shed located in the backyard of his house. Tirupur police started an investigation after the boy went missing and informed Paravur police about the matter. Paravur police arrived at Rakesh’s home on Friday and conducted an inspection. But they could not find the boy.
The boy was found at a bus stop next to Rakesh’s house on Saturday. The 14-year-old told the locals that he was abducted and brought to Kerala. Later, the locals informed the police about the matter. The police then arrived at Rakesh’s house and found him hanging. The police initiated a probe into Rakesh’s death.
