Kollam: A man was found hanging on a tree near his house premises in Kollam on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar. He was found dead a day after he was reportedly beaten up while questioning a four drunkards who misbehaved with his daughter.
The drunkards allegedly made vulgar comments on Ajay Kumar's daughter, while she was returning in his bike after tution on Wednesday. After dropping the Class 11 girl at home, he went back to drunkards. According to reports, he was beaten and stripped by the drunkards.
After the incident, he returned home, shut himself in the room, and refused to eat anything. On Thursday evening, he eventually left the room and went outside. Later, he was found hanging from a tree in the plot near his house.
The deceased's family lodged a complaint on Saturday alleging that the attack triggered Ajay Kumar to commit suicide. The autopsy and funeral are over.The police have launched a probe into the matter.
