CCTV visual of the accident-Deceased Gauri
Kollam: A man and his daughter were killed after a lorry rammed into a motorcycle they were travelling in Mylakkadu stretch here on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Gopakumar and his daughter Gauri.
Gopakumar died on the spot while Gauri succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The duo was heading towards Thiruvananthapuram direction when the lorry hit on their two-wheeler.
According to witnesses, Gopakumar was crushed to death on the spot by the speeding lorry. While the girl died at a private hospital in Kottiyam.
Meanwhile, the CCTV visuals of the incident revealed that the serious negligence of the lorry driver killed the duo.
Even after mowing down the bike for 20 metres, the vehicle did not stop until locals interceded. It finally stopped 100 metres away from the accident spot.
Police and MVD also said that the lorry driver’s negligence led to the accident.
