Kodiyeri to go on leave for 6 months; CPM to get new secretary
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is going on leave from party for six months. CPM is gearing up to appoint a new person to the post.
Kodiyeri is going on leave for medical treatment. He has been keeping away from active politics for the past one and half months due to the disease. The decision on his leave application will be taken at the state secretariat to be held on Friday.
Reportedly, senior CPM leader M A Baby will be appointed as secretary. E P Jayarajan, M V Govindhan and A Vijayaraghavan are also possible candidates.
If secretary is elected from the cabinet, there will be a shuffling in the cabinet.
However, a final decision will be taken after enquiring the stance taken by national leadership.
