Kodiyeri alleges conspiracy in declaration of by-election in Pala
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged that there is a conspiracy in declaration of by-election in Pala exempting Manjeshwaram. He noted that usually the Election Commission declare by-elections in all vacant seats in a state with a single notification.
“Earlier the Election Commission had declared by-elections together in all vacant seats in a state. But this time, they violated this practice,” he added.
When two Rajya Sabha seats were vacant in Gujarat, Election Commission conducted bypolls in two phases in order to favour BJP. If the elections were carried out together, Congress would have won a seat. Such political conspiracies are continuing under Election Commission. So motive behind declaration of by-election in Pala should be suspected,” said Kodiyeri.
At the same time, he asserted that LDF will make a strong comeback in the election. Kodiyeri expressed hope to win the election in the seat which was occupied by KM Mani for a long time.
“Dispute in Kerala Congress will favour LDF. The situation in Kerala changed a lot since the Lok Sabha elections. Believers who had misunderstood the party over Sabarimala issue, have realised the truth,” the CPM leader added.
LDF will summon a meeting on Wednesday in Pala. The by-election in Pala will take place on September 23.
