Kochi: The police claimed that Doyal, the youngster who was arrested for attacking a doctor at Kalamassery Medical College on Monday night, had been under their radar for quite a long time. “He had attempted suicide in an inebriated condition last year, Doyal is an alcoholic,” says Kalamassery station house officer PR Santhosh.
Doyal, who has been taken into custody has multiple charges on him. He was booked under Hospital Protection Act and has also been booked for physical assault and threatening.

Doyal was brought to the hospital in an inebriated condition on Monday night with an injury on his face. After receiving first aid at the minor OT, he started hurling abuses at the duty doctor.
“Even though I tried to avoid him, Doyal followed me and gave me death threats and eventually attacked me,” said doctor Irfan.
It is said that after creating ruckus inside the hospital, he misbehaved with a group of women while he was taken outside.
“The efforts of the police officer at the hospital aid post and locals helped in pacifying the situation before he was taken to custody,” says the doctor.
