Kochi native escapes from COVID quarantine at Ottapalam taluk hospital

Ottapalam (Palakkad): A man who was under COVID quarantine escaped from Ottapalam taluk hospital. A 46-year-old man hailing from Kadavanthra in Kochi fled from the hospital on Monday around 1.45 am. As per reports, he has COVID symptoms.

The man came from Chennai three days ago and was admitted in taluk hospital with symptoms. His fluids were sent for testing, but the result has not come yet. The health department and the police stated that he is likely to have COVID-19 as he had severe symptoms of the disease.

Nobody noticed the man escaping from the hospital in the wee hours. It is assumed that he might have left the hospital through backside and escaped on a bike. The police are investigating whether he has reached his native place in Kochi.

Earlier, a Tamil Nadu native lorry driver had escaped from isolation ward in Palakkad district hospital. No details of this person was received yet.
