Kochi: Ernakulam South police confirmed that three men from Kodungallur and a woman, who is a Rajasthan native, are the accused in a case in connection with the gang rape of a 19-year-old model inside a car in Kochi on Thursday night.
The survivor only knew the Rajasthan native accused in the gang. The incident surfaced when a friend of the survivor informed the rape case to the police on Friday morning. All the accused are currently under police custody.
The investigation team has taken Thar SUV into custody, in which the survivor was sexually abused.
The shocking incident happened after the model, and the four accused visited a bar near Thevara. The accused took the model to drop her at the flat in Kakkanad after she collapsed in the bar. In a preliminary probe, police found that the girl might have collapsed due to intoxication. She was sexually assaulted by the three men on the way to her residence.
The health condition of the girl, who was later admitted at the Govt Medical College in Kalamassery, is stable, informed police.
