Dimple Lamba
Kochi: Police intensified the probe into the rape of a 19-year-old model in Kochi by focusing on the Rajasthani woman Dimple Lamba, accused in the case and Fly High hotel, which hosted the DJ party.
In the statement to the police, the survivor revealed that Dimple Lamba had taken her to the DJ party in the bar hotel on Thursday night. Dimple offered beer laced with a white-coloured powder to her and she collapsed after drinking it. Later, Dimple took her into the car with three men.
Police informed that Dimple has been a frequent visitor at DJ parties held in Kochi. She had also participated in several fashion shows in the city. The other accused Vivek (26), Nithin (35) and Sudeep (34) were acquaintances of Dimple. It has been reported that the three accused, who reached from Kodungallur rang up Dimple and informed her that they are interested to attend a DJ party and enquired if any girls would be available. Hence, charges of conspiracy were also imposed on the accused along with rape charges.
Meanwhile, police found severe lapses from the side of the hotel as the ID cards produced by many persons to attend the event were reportedly fake. Police have sought legal advice to find the possibilities of actions that could be taken against the hotel authorities.
The investigation team will seek the custody of all four accused on Monday for a detailed interrogation. Police will probe if Dimple had similarly trapped any other women at Kochi.
