Kochi metro to resume service from Monday
Kochi: Kochi metro will resume service from Monday after a long gap. All preparations ahead of the resumption of the service have been completed at the Muttom yard. The service will be conducted adhering to the COVID protocols.
The metro service, which was closed down due to COVID pandemic, will restart on Monday after a gap of five months. In the first two days, the service will be held from 7 am to 9 pm.
The seats in the metro trains have been marked for the passengers to maintain social distance while sitting down. Also, areas have been marked inside the train where passengers can stand while commuting. The trains will be sanitized after completing each trip. Between 100 to 200 passengers will be allowed to travel in the metro at once.
During the journey, all the doors of the metro train will be kept open for 20 seconds at each stop. Moreover, digital transactions will be given preference at the ticket counter. Otherwise, the passenger will have to deposit the money in the special deposit box. In case the balance amount has to be returned to the passenger, sanitized notes will be given.
