Kochi: The Kochi Metro has set up free wifi in the trains for the passengers. KMRL MD Loknath Behra inaugurated the service here on Tuesday.

It currently works in the 4G service and will be upgraded as soon as 5G arrives in the state, KMRL said. It added that the data of the passengers will be secured while using the wifi.

The programme is implemented with the help of ‘Worldshore’ in Thiruvananthapuram.

After connecting the wifi, the user has to enter name and phone number and verify OTP to access the internet.
