Ernakulam: Kochi Mayor M.Anil Kumar on Thursday received a threatening letter which included a picture of Bin Laden and others. The letter harshly threatened the mayor.
"You will be paraded naked through Kochi beach. Don't dare to publish your photo in any newspaper. If you show pride by giving your photo in newspapers, your limbs will be crushed," the letter warned the mayor.
The sender's name was written as Commander-in-Chief of the Taliban, Fakhruddin Al-Thani.
The LDF has lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner seeking an investigation into the incident.
The complaint was filed by LDF parliamentary party secretary Benedict Fernandes.
Mayor Anil Kumar told Mathrubhumi.com that he did not know that anyone was against him and that it was done by someone with mental problems.
He also stated that he is not interested in pursuing the case and only informed the police as the threat was issued against the mayor.
