Kollam: The police recorded the arrest of assistant motor vehicle inspector Kirankumar in connection with his wife Vismaya's death. The police said that he will be booked on charges of domestic violence. Charging of other cases will be considered after Vismaya's post-mortem report is received, they said.

Kirankumar was taken into police custody the other day after Vismaya was found dead in his house. He was interrogated for several hours before recording his arrest on Tuesday morning. He admitted that he used to beat up Vismaya and the injuries seen in the photos she sent to her family were inflicted by him.

Kirankumar revealed that he and Vismaya had a fight in the wee hours of Monday. After this, she told him she wanted to go home. The issue was later resolved by Kiran's parents. She ended life following this quarrel. Vismaya went to the bathroom after the fight and did not come out for a long time, Kiran told the police.

As Vismaya remained in the bathroom for over 20 minutes, he broke open the door and found her dead, according to Kiran's statement. Meanwhile the police said that they will interrogate Kiran's family also. Earlier, Vismaya's parents alleged that Kiran's mother had also beat up Vismaya.
