Kiran Anand selected as head priest of Guruvayur Temple

Thrissur: Kiran Anand has been selected as the head priest of Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple for a period of six months starting from October 1.

There were 41 applicants for the head priest position. The selection of the chief priest was through a draw of lots which was held after the 'Ucha Pooja'

Out of the 39 applicants who were qualified in the interview, Kiran Anand of Kakkat Mana won the draw.

Tantri PC Dineshan Namboothiripad and Administrator KP Vinayan were present during the selection of the new head priest.

Kiran Anand will take charge as the new head priest on September 30.
