Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Jayasurya stated that the people experience unnecessary delay in government services. He said this during the inauguration of the final day of the state-level art fest organised by Kerala Gazetted Officer’s Association (KGOA). He said that the common people have to face several hurdles when they approach the government office for service.

"We are used to the lag in government services. It takes weeks, months or years to get things done in a government office. People will have to visit the government offices several times and request employees to do things. This adamant nature of the employees is not acceptable," criticised the actor.

Appointing a separate employee for replying to the queries of the public or displaying list of required documents for certain purposes in the office will be helpful for the people. Public servants should work for everyone regardless of their status and they should not accept bribes, Jayasurya suggested.
