Kevin was abducted and murdered: CM informs Assembly
Thiruvananthapuram: The chief minister made it clear in the Assembly that it has been proved in the investigation that Kevin was abducted and murdered. He was replying to the adjournment motion moved by the opposition. The Opposition alleged that the honour killing was executed with the support of the police and ruling party.
Police failed to act though Kevin was abducted passing 10 police station limits, said Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. The police officers told Neenu to go with her family when she approached Gandhinagar police station. When Neenu said that she wanted to go with Kevin, her relatives dragged her in front of the police who remained inactive, said Thiruvanchoor.
The incident was quite unjustifiable. There are two DYFI workers in the murderous gang. The government is supporting both the sides and that is their policy, he criticized.
Meanwhile, the chief minister said that Kevin murder was an incident that should not have happened in Kerala. It is indeed an honour killing. 14 accused in the case are in police custody and remand. The entire state should come forward to stop the recurrence of such crimes here, he demanded.
Opposition demanded that the case should be handed over to CBI. The police and the government are trying to save former Gandhinagar SI Shibu, which is why the case should be probed by CBI, Thiruvanchoor demanded while seeking permission for the adjournment motion.
