Kevin’s murder is honour killing; Court directs to complete trial within 6 months
Kottayam: The court has confirmed that the murder of Kevin was an incident of honour killing. Kottayam Additional Sessions Court observed that the murder was an honour killing after accepting all the arguments of prosecution. The court also directed to complete the trial within six months.
The prosecution argued that Kevin, who belong to Dalit Christian community, married Neenu, an elite Christian girl, and was murdered by her family in revenge.
Though the defence opposed all arguments of prosecution, the court accepted the prosecution’s arguments and confirmed the murder to be an event of honour killing.
The trial of the case has begun and its cross examination is yet to be completed. The court directed to complete all the procedures within six months.
Kottayam Nattassery native Kevin (24) was found murdered on May 27, 2018, after he was abducted by his wife Neenu’s relatives on the very next day of their marriage.
Neenu’s father, brother and friends were booked in the murder case.
