Kevin murder: Evidence collection to take place today
Kottayam: Police have decided to recreate the murder of Nattassery native Kevin P Joseph (23) in order to collect more evidence in connection with the incident. It is indicated that the evidence collection will take place on Sunday as the main accused in the case have been nabbed already.
The evidence collection will be staged in the wee hours of the day, which is the same time when the incident took place. The police intends to get clarification on what had happened on the day when Kevin and Aneesh were kidnapped from Mannanam at 2 in the morning by travelling in the same route.
With this, the police can get a clear idea of the incidents that occurred from Mannanam to Thenmala. Police plan to prepare a sketch of the situation and time of what the culprits did at each of the places. They will be accompanied by a team of experts to prepare the sketches.
All the plans for this procedures have been complete. More security will be arranged at Mannanam and Thenmala as the public are likely to express their rage on the culprits. Police also calculate that there would not be a lot of people in the wee hours of the day.
The investigation team has again recorded the statement of Kevin’s widow Neenu. She has repeated her previous statement that Kevin would not be murdered without the knowledge of her parents. The major cause for the family’s opposition was the difference in financial status between them.
Neenu said that she has not been loved by her family since childhood due to intense family problems. She also stated that she has been considering Niyas, the accused in the case and her mother Rahna’s relative, as her brother.
The 34-page statement was recorded by the investigation team on Friday. Gandhinagar police had recorded Neenu’s statement last Sunday morning when the incident took place.
