Keralites who joined IS likely to be back home, says Intelligence Bureau
Kasaragod: The Intelligence Bureau reported that the Kasaragod natives who joined Islamic State have expressed interest to come back to Kerala. It is learned that they plan to retreat as the army has taken stern action against IS. The Intelligence Bureau has been monitoring the movements of these people.
Three people including Firoz, a native of Thrikaripur in Kasaragod are trying to leave for their native place. One and half month ago, Firoz phoned his relative and expressed interest to come back to Kasaragod. Firoz and the other two people are presently in Syria.
Firoz, an employee at Kasaragod Peace Public School left Kerala to join Islamic State in June 2016. He moved to join IS along with a team led by his colleague Abdul Rashid. Unofficial sources reported that Abdul Rashid who was engaged in IS recruitment from Kerala was killed in a US military attack in Afghanistan.
