Kozhikode: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Wednesday said that the reshuffling of Congress in Kerala cannot be stopped halfway. He said that stopping the KPCC reorganization just because the organizational election was declared, it will adversely affect the functioning of the party.

Satheesan added that the reorganization is being carried out in accordance with the sentiments of the activists, the executive and the DCC presidents. Currently, the newly elected DCC presidents are functioning with 120 to 150 office bearers in many places. Satheesan said that the party could not work efficiently with so many people.

Satheesan’s statement comes in the wake of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s meeting with Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday to drop the idea of reshuffle. “We are not aware that the senior leaders had a complaint on the matter. They never complained to anyone,” he stated.

Satheesan added that the opinion of senior leaders will also be considered. Meanwhile, Tariq Anwar, who is in charge of Kerala, had yesterday said that Oommen Chandy was unhappy over the plan for reorganization when organizational election is declared.

Satheesan said he would listen to everyone's views on organizational matters and discuss and address the issues that need to be resolved. At the same time, the groups within Congress has decided to move together after facing setbacks when the list of DCC presidents and later the list of KPCC office bearers were announced.
